We at Aquinas Law take our corporate social responsibility obligations seriously. We set aside a fixed number of bro-bono hours of professional legal time to assist charities in their legal work. This may involve conducting talks and seminars as well as giving legal advice for compliance with the laws. Together with our Corporate Secretarial Team handling Charities and Voluntary Welfare Organisations we also provide discounted legal services over and above the bro-bono hours for charities and their clients. We believe in giving back to the society that we live in and the best way we know how is to be legal advisors.
Some of the recent pro-bono activities include presenting a talk on “Intellectual Property for Charities” for 8 charities recently. We also conducted talks on the “Personal Data Protection Act” to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore) and Realm of Tranquillity.
Apart from the above we also participated in fund raising activities for charities like the “Assisi Hospice Food and Fun Fair” and “Tong Chai Medical Hall Charity Walk”. We also visited the Assisi Hospice and provided complimentary will drafting for some of their clients.
