About Goh Hui Hua
HUI HUA is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group. His disputes practice offers both depth and breadth.
Hui Hua argued and won his first court application as a part-called trainee in 2017 and has never looked back since. He was trusted to act as lead counsel in his first year of practice and he managed to obtain various favourable outcomes for his clients as a newly qualified lawyer, including a judgment in the High Court for the sum of approximately $6.3 million.
As a result, Hui Hua is armed with significant advocacy and client management experience right from the start of his legal career. He has been leading and conducting a wide range of matters, including commercial and civil disputes, equity and trusts disputes, insolvency law disputes, employment law disputes, family law disputes and criminal law defence & mitigation. Hui Hua has appeared as lead counsel in the Court of Appeal, the High Court, the State Courts and the Family Justice Courts.
Hui Hua’s experience has allowed him to provide holistic solutions to his clients which take into account the legal aspects, as well as the commercial and practical considerations, of each matter.
Hui Hua is also passionate in imparting his knowledge and skills to younger lawyers and in guiding them through their legal careers.
Hui Hua is effectively bilingual and often advises Chinese speaking clients as part of his disputes practice.
His reported cases include:-
Acted as lead counsel in a 14.5 day High Court trial defending against a claim for an account of rental proceeds of a HDB Coffeeshop amounting to approximately $3,500,000 (Tia Oon Lai v Tia Sock Kiu [2025] SGHC 108)
Acted as lead counsel in a High Court application to declare a procedurally irregular CPF nomination as legally valid and to restrain the CPF Board from disbursing the CPF funds pending the determination of the matter by the High Court (Toh Tun Li Adeline v Central Provident Fund Board and another [2023] SGHC 55)
Represented a tuition business owner and his company in a High Court lawsuit involving issues of contractual interpretation, director’s duties, passing off and conspiracy (Tuitiongenius Pte Ltd v Toh Yew Keat and another [2020] 5 SLR 354; [2019] SGHC 264); and its subsequent appeal (Tuitiongenius Pte Ltd v Toh Yew Keat and another [2021] 1 SLR 231; [2020] SGCA 103)
